Deciphering the new PSA test guidelines

Is confusion the order of the day in the medical community? It would seem so, because every few years or so another respected (by medical orthodoxy) and influential government advisory panel will issue new, contradictory recommendations that send patients into a state of confusion and into the arms of orthodox doctors for clarity. This time it’s the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force reversing its advice of five years ago regarding men and the prostate specific antigen (PSA) test.

Sessions ‘surprised’ Americans think the drug war is dumb

War games

As last week drew to a close, President Trump ordered a missile strike on the Al Shayrat airbase in Syria. And by ordering the launch during a visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump also flexed enough muscle to convince the Chinese to play ball; as demonstrated by China’s halt of coal to North Korea. The strike was a geopolitical master stroke by a game theory virtuoso.

Bloated tax code: IRS chief says agency is running out of room on 1040

Internal Revenue Service Commissioner John Koskinen just made a pretty strong case for GOP tax reform efforts to begin as soon as possible. IRS officials, he said, are struggling keep the standard 1040 tax form to a manageable size because of increasing tax complexity.
