Bernie Sanders is right about military spending

Republicans in Congress approved military spending plans this week which include tens of billions of new dollars for the Pentagon. Sen. Bernie Sanders criticized the legislation, suggesting that the move represents the opposite of the America first style of governance President Donald Trump proposed on the campaign trail.

Political junkies throughout the nation have a close watch on Alabama ahead of next week’s Senate special election runoff between GOP Sen. Luther Strange and conservative challenger Judge Roy Moore. The election, in which Trump has endorsed the establishment-favored incumbent, is shaping up as a referendum on the Trump administration’s seeming decision earlier this year to begin putting distance between itself and its most conservative supporters.

Why are Trump supporters cheering amid all these leftist wins?

The past two weeks have been some of the worst for American conservatism since President Barack Obama turned over his keys to the White House. President Donald Trump’s Republican government in Washington managed to take steps backward on budget cuts, immigration and freedom of speech as the nation was busy worrying about hurricanes and North Korea. Trump’s most ardent supporters aren’t yet ready to admit it– but the left is winning, bigly.

An ounce of prevention… will save you in the long run

It is timely, but unfortunate, that I write this following the destruction and great loss caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma across the Gulf Coast and Florida. There is never going to be a time where emergencies or disasters stop occurring so the best course of action that anyone can take is to take steps ahead of time to prevent being caught up in the melee surrounding disasters.
