For every illness, socialism has the answer

New data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that Americans live shorter lives on average than people in other developed nations. Thankfully, The Washington Post has the answer to our problems. We just need more socialism and gun control, which will magically get rid of all the booger bears the left believes are the cause of all our ills.

Is stashing a gun a good idea?

It would probably be fair to say that I have a bit of an obsession with the security of my family. Perhaps it is born from the fear that someone who is sick and twisted could come after my family. It could also be that we live in a rural area and if I were a burglar, I would look for houses like mine to rob. Either way, I don’t feel comfortable being ignorant like so many people seem to be ok with.

National reciprocity is not all that’s in the gun bill

On Wednesday the House of Representatives passed a bill that would require states to honor concealed carry permits from other states. At first glance that would seem to be good for gun rights. But as with all legislation, the devil is in the details – or in this case, the rider that was attached.

Control THIS, gun grabbers!

The gun-grabbers could have gone completely squirrel-monkey insane. Following the carnage which unfolded in Sutherland Springs, Texas, they could have turned the victims into sock-puppets for their gleeful virtue-signaling. They could even have staged shrieking photo-ops in which they blamed people who had nothing to do with it. Instead, they – well – that’s pretty much exactly what they did.

The danger of patriotism

The U.S. establishment has confused cause and effect by and through a flag-waving mania in America. “Patriotism” throughout history has covered a multitude of mischief. Phony patriotism is strong leverage against a population ignorant of the ways of treason by its own government. We are seeing it now!

Justice Thomas calls out colleagues as SCOTUS rejects case on unconstitutional California gun laws

Lost among the headlines of the Supreme Court’s busy Monday was news that the court rejected a 2nd Amendment case against unconstitutional California handgun laws. But Justice Clarence Thomas’s scathing rebuke of his colleagues’ unwillingness to hear the case signals that the 2nd Amendment still has hearty support in the nation’s highest court.

Seattle gun tax misfires

A tax on guns on and ammunition in Seattle ostensibly designed to reduce the number of shootings and generate revenue for the “study of the root causes of gun violence” is misfiring. Shootings in the city are up, tax revenues are falling far short of predictions and gun and ammunition business in the city is tanking.

Kansas gun case may preserve 2nd Amendment for a generation or more

The Kansas Second Amendment Protection Act, which passed in 2013, says firearms, accessories and ammunition manufactured and kept within the borders of Kansas are exempt from federal gun control laws. But despite that law, a Kansas gun dealer has been convicted of selling unlicensed silencers he manufactured for use in Kansas. And a buyer of one of his silencers has also been convicted.
