Do the Republicans Have What it Takes to Beat Obama?
November 8, 2011 | Tags: 2012 Election, Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, President Obama, Republican Primaries
Donation-magnet President Obama has generally been matched very closely in most polls with leading Republican candidates. Now, he holds a 15 point lead over Herman Cain and a 6 point lead over Mitt Romney in the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll.
That is not all that shocking to me. Romney is the Republican Obama and Cain, while a little different, is another dose of what we’ve had for too long. With Cain’s overblown scandal, that may account for the large gap in percentages.
The only candidates that I care for are Ron Paul and Gary Johnson. Gary Johnson is receiving the treatment Ron Paul got in 2008 and Ron Paul, who consistently hangs in the middle of the polls, is barely mentioned in the mainstream media. Paul has a slim chance and Johnson, sadly, has all but none.
With a relatively unpopular sitting President, the win is there for the Republicans. Will they squander this opportunity?
