Gingrich and Cain Battle for Second

November 11, 2011   |

At the risk of sounding like an old fart – I guess at 48 many would consider me an old fart – I’m starting to like what I hear out of Gingrich more and more.

I know, I know, I think Ron Paul is still the best man for the job but it’s looking less and less likely that he will be able to win the nomination – same reason as before – no matter how much we try, there are just not enough of us to make the real difference.

Newt seems to be saying all the right things – of course – that is no guarantee of anything mind you – and we really need a backup plan if things fall apart with Herman Cain. I just can’t bring myself to support Romney or Perry. There is just not enough evidence there that either of them will bring us back to the constitution.

Among Republican and Republican leaning independents, here is how the contest stands:23% for Mitt Romney19% for Newt Gingrich17% for Herman Cain10% for Ron Paul8% for Rick Perry5% for Michele Bachmann1% for Jon Huntsman1% for Rick Santorum17% are undecided
