The Smartest Writer At Huffington Post
November 25, 2011 |
If you don’t know who Radley Balko is, you really should. Readers of Reason Magazine may recognize his name, as he used to be the senior editor. Not only that, but he also used to do work for the Cato Institute. While more of his focus is primarily on civil rights issues and police brutality, he is a staunch libertarian, and does not hide that fact in his articles.
Somewhere along the way, he decided to leave Reason to became a staple over at the Huffington Post. I’m not too sure what to make of it, but I have noticed something strange happening as I read through comments on his posts. It seems as if some of the Huffington Post readers are starting to see that creating new laws and expanding the scope of government is not always a good thing. They’re starting to see that when government steps in and tries to “solve problems”, often it does more harm than good. In other words, through Radley Balko’s articles, Huffington Post readers are being turn on to the ideas of libertarianism.
So the next time you decide to take a trip to the liberal land of HuffPo, be sure to keep yourself sane and check out some of the articles by Radley Balko.
