6-Year-Old Critically Injures School Teacher; Official Claims No Accident


According to police and school officials in the city of Newport News, a 6-year-old kid shot and critically injured a Virginia teacher on Friday during a fight inside a first-grade classroom. According to police, there were no casualties among the pupils at Richneck Elementary School. The teacher, a 30-year-old woman, had injuries that could have killed her. By late afternoon, her condition had somewhat improved, according to Newport News Police Chief Steve Drew.
